Non-destructive testing (NDT) is a complimentary process which can be used alongside physical load testing to correlate and ensure the safety and integrity of port bollards. There are various non-destructive testing methods that can be used to assess the condition of port bollards, including visual inspection, forced vibration, magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic testing, ferro-scan, spectrograph and radiographic testing.
